Application: niobium is an important rare metal with high melting point. It has a series of excellent properties, such as high melting point, good plasticity, low vapor pressure, high chemical stability, strong resistance to liquid metal and acid-base corrosion, large dielectric constant of surface oxide film, small capture cross-section in heat, high superconducting transition temperature, good low temperature ductility and heat conduction performance, which make niobium in metallurgy, chemical industry and aerospace , atomic energy, electron, superconductivity and other fields are widely used. Niobium has good superconductivity and thermal conductivity. The transition temperature of niobium is 917K and it has a high critical magnetic field (HC). The good mechanical properties of niobium are also suitable for various shapes of microwave resonators. Up to now, niobium has become the first choice material for superconducting accelerating cavity.
