Product Description
Product name:Dicyandiamide
Alternate name:2-Cyanoguanidine;
DCDA;Guanylurea
CAS No.:461-58-5
Appearance:White crystalline powder
Molecular Formula:C2H4N4
Dicyandiamide (DICY or DCD) is a white, crystalline powder that is the dimer of cyanamide. It is soluble in water and various alcohols but insoluble in ether and benzene. As a non-flammable and stable compound, it is widely used as a heat-curing agent for epoxy resins. It cures by dispersing in the resin as fine particles at room temperature and reacting rapidly once heated to its melting point.
Packaging:
Material: Usually PP woven bags or kraft paper bags, sometimes with an inner polyethylene (PE) liner for enhanced moisture protection.
Specifications: Common sizes include 20kg/bag, 25kg/bag, suitable for general industrial and commercial use.
Product Efficacy and Application:
As a raw material for guanidine salts and melamine derivatives. Various guanidine salts can be produced by the reaction of dicyandiamide with acids. Phenyl-substituted melamine, obtained from the reaction of dicyandiamide with phenyl cyanide, serves as an intermediate in the production of coatings, laminates, and molding powders.
Used as a dye fixing agent. The dicyandiamide resin, prepared by the reaction of dicyandiamide with formaldehyde, can be used as a dye fixing agent.
Dicyandiamide fertilizer. Dicyandiamide compound fertilizers can control the activity of nitrifying bacteria, regulate the conversion rate of nitrogen fertilizer in soil, reduce nitrogen loss, and improve fertilizer efficiency.
As a fine chemical intermediate. In pharmaceuticals, it is used to produce guanidine nitrate, sulfonamide drugs, etc.; it is also used to produce thiourea, nitrocellulose stabilizer, rubber vulcanization accelerator, steel surface hardener, artificial leather filler, adhesive, etc. The intermediate 5-azacytidine can be obtained by the reaction of dicyandiamide with formic acid.
Used in the determination of cobalt, nickel, copper, and palladium, organic synthesis, nitrocellulose stabilizer, hardener, detergent, vulcanization accelerator, and resin synthesis.
