Acrylic acid is an organic compound with chemical formula of c3h4o2. It is a colorless liquid with pungent smell. It is miscible with water and can be miscible with ethanol and ether. It has active chemical properties and is easy to polymerize in air. It can be reduced to propionic acid by hydrogenation and added with hydrogen chloride to produce 2-chloropropionic acid. It is mainly used to prepare acrylic resin.
